How It All started
In late 2007 we discovered a major discrepancy between the price of propane per gallon billed by suppliers in the Western Carolinas and the price we had been charged in some other parts of the country. In response we negotiated a more competitive price for ourselves and subsequently helped a few of our neighbors do the same. After sharing this experience with a larger audience we formed a community wide organization called the Energy Buying Group.
In the past year we saved our membership over $1 million dollars in propane costs. This year, in an effort to improve our communication and service we have added a new web based system that will help keep our members better informed and integrate with the propane suppliers more directly. We are working on improving the site and welcome any suggestions or contributions.
